A full house of clients and community joined forces to celebrate a standout year for the independent financial advice firm.

Welsh & Taylor Wealth marked a major milestone in the firm’s journey on Saturday evening, hosting more than 120 clients, friends and professional partners at a packed celebration at The Chester Hotel in Aberdeen.

Reflecting the trust and long‑standing relationships the firm has built across the north-east, attendees enjoyed a warm and welcoming atmosphere closer to a community celebration than a corporate occasion.

A year of transformation

The event showcased one of the most significant developments in the Aberdeen financial planning firm’s history: its accelerated move to full independence.

This transition involved months of regulatory work, the complete rebuilding of its financial planning and investment processes, and an unwavering focus on delivering fully impartial, client-first advice designed and delivered in Aberdeen. And all this work has already delivered meaningful outcomes.

Clients who chose to transition with Welsh & Taylor Wealth are collectively saving more than £650,000 in charges every year, while gaining enhanced investment choice, more transparent governance, and a locally-led service model built around long-term relationships.

A night that felt like a community coming together

Speaking after the event, managing director Kieran Taylor said: “Walking into a room filled with over 120 clients, many of whom have supported us since the beginning, was genuinely moving.

“Our clients have backed us at every stage, and celebrating this journey together here in Aberdeen, our home, means everything to us.

“In a time where lots of national private equity firms are taking over a lot of the independent firms, we are proud to be bucking that trend.

“We are an Aberdeen business. We love our community, we love where we’re from, we truly believe in buying local and that’s the way we’ll stay.”

Co‑managing director Martin Welsh added: “Our mission has always been simple: to build an independent firm that is accountable only to its clients. Seeing such a large turnout reinforced how important it is to stay rooted in our community and continue delivering advice that is shaped by local needs, not external pressures.”

Martin and Kieran were overwhelmed by the support and positivity shown at the special event.

Clients share their experience

Guests described the evening as warm, welcoming and a true celebration of local business. One long-standing client, who attended with his family, commented: “It didn’t feel like a corporate event, it felt like being part of something. I’ve always valued the personal approach Welsh & Taylor take, and seeing so many people gathered to support them only confirmed why they’ve earned such trust in Aberdeen.”

Another attendee remarked on the atmosphere: “You could sense the pride in the room. It was great to see a local firm succeed without losing the personal touch that makes them different.”

A clear commitment for the future

The event reinforces a clear message from Welsh & Taylor Wealth. It intends to remain a truly independent Aberdeen financial planning firm, deeply local, and committed to raising the standard of financial planning for families, business owners and retirees across the north-east.

The evening closed with thanks to clients, recognising that the firm’s growth and success have been driven not by marketing or expansion plans, but by trust, advocacy and community support.

Welsh & Taylor Wealth remains firmly focussed on its roots, its people and the community it is proud to serve.
